“Held in Time” is a self-portrait that captures a moment of stillness suspended between past, present, and future. My gaze reflects inward, holding a quiet tension as I consider how my past continues to shape my current life, while questioning what lies ahead for me as an artist.
At the time of creating this piece, I found myself in a state of reflection, caught between memory and uncertainty, yet grounded in the present moment. The composition emphasizes this pause, where time feels momentarily held rather than moving forward.
I am depicted wearing my signature color and amber jewelry, elements that carry personal and symbolic meaning. In many cultures, amber is believed to offer protection. While this belief may not be grounded in certainty, I wear it as a form of reassurance, an intimate gesture toward comfort and stability. The lavender I hold introduces a contrasting softness, symbolizing purity, devotion, calmness, and grace, qualities I strive to embody both now and in the future.
Through this work, I explore the intersection of identity, belief, and time, presenting a moment where reflection becomes a quiet act of grounding amidst uncertainty.
