Would You Rather – Art Prints by Michelle Krasowski
Would You Rather (Print)
By Michelle Krasowski
Would You Rather
A haunting and thought-provoking work, Would You Rather is based on the viral, controversial question posed to women in a social experiment: “Would you rather be trapped in a room with a bear or a man?”
The painting captures the loaded silence behind the question, one that reveals a deeper, collective fear shaped by lived experience. A seated man, calmly lit by a single beam, watches a girl command the attention of a towering bear. There’s tension, irony, and power in this reversal of roles, where the bear appears less threatening than the human presence, and the child becomes the voice between them.
The image confronts themes of gendered fear, power, and survival, and extends beyond the viral conversation. It touches on the real, often hidden, violence that women, children, and even men face in a world where trust can be dangerous, and freedom can be fragile.
At its deepest level, this work alludes to the shadow of human trafficking, a subject often unseen but devastatingly present. With expressive brushwork and theatrical contrast, Would You Rather challenges viewers to reflect on the unseen dangers in our society, and who or what we are taught to fear.
Each print is carefully packaged with a protective sleeve and rigid backing. Now available in signed or unsigned formats.
