Would You Rather is inspired by a question that spread online: would you rather be alone in a room with a bear or a man? What seems like a simple question reveals something deeper about fear, trust, and personal experience.

In this painting, a child stands beside a bear, choosing it over the man seated across from her. The bear represents a known kind of danger—one that acts on instinct. The man, however, represents uncertainty, where actions are shaped by choice and experience.

This piece reflects how fear is often shaped by what people have seen, heard, or lived through. The child’s choice isn’t about what is truly safer, but about what feels safer based on that understanding.

In the end, the painting asks a difficult question: why can something dangerous feel more predictable, and sometimes safer, than another human being?
